PUG Wilderness UTV clutch problems
Hello All,
I have a (no idea what year) PUG Wilderness UTV with clutch problems. Someone has attempted some clutch work on this thing for sure! The alignment between the drive and driven clutch is off at least 1/2" and it appears to be shimmed away from the aluminum backing plate for the clutch's cover with a piece of black iron pipe. When I apply any load (climb and hill) the driven clutch opens (shifts into high range) and the belt slips in the primary clutch. I have very little information from the previous owner as to what was actually done to this machine. He told me the driven clutch was replaced with one purchased directly from the (PUG) manufacturer. That replacement clutch appears to be a Comet 302649A. I am 99% sure that is not correct clutch for this unit after speaking with the tech support at Comet. They told me that driven clutch should be operated with the spring inboard, that is not possible on this machine. I spoke with owner at PUG manufacturing and he told me he is not sure what clutch combination should be on this model. I am hoping someone can help me sort this out? I apologize for my long winded poorly written post. Any Help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Chuck
