Use the pedal to start... it'll idle... turn the key off to shut it down! I'm not exactly sure how a 96 is set up, but I'm geussing it's almost the same as my 07 There is a black box in the engine compartment with (1) 5/16 hex screw in the middle of the lid. (you'll see throttle cables going in, and out of it!) Remove the cover, and you'll see 2 micro switches, There will be only 1 black wire, it's connected to the bottom micro switch... Disconnect the black wire from the switch, and tuck it in so it won't touch anything, (engine kill circuit) Reinstall the cover, and put your cart in service/maintenance mode, and chock the wheels. Your cart will now start, and (almost) idle... Now, you'll have to adjust your idle a little higher, to keep your engine from dying out! Make sure you don't turn it up too high... your cart will "creep" along without the brake on when it idles! And... it'll wear your drive belt out (amongst other things) when you leave the hill/park brake on! Special thanks to Tom at CPP for this info! Disclaimer avaliable upon request |
