Default Club Car Project

First off I have an EZGO and am very familiar with them, but here recently I have been itching to do a Club Car project over the winter, but admittedly know nothing about them. My question for you guys is which CC should I be looking for, I assume a DS, and should I consider a resistor cart which I really know nothing about but may have access to one non running 2K for a fairly good price.
Any guidance would be much appreciated.

What do you consider a good price and what's your ultimate goals? It's a 2000 and a resistor cart?

2k for a toaster cart is too much IMO. It would be 500 or less here.

The s/n starts as A0007 the cost of the cart is not $2K it is less than $500 and yes it has resistors. I know it is costly to convert to solid state.

$500 seems about right if it's in good shape, but again, what are your goals? If you're looking for a tricked out speed demon, figure out what it will cost to convert to 48v and electronic, add that to whatever else the cart needs (seats? Tires/wheels?) and see if it's worth it. Sure, there's value in the fun of converting a toaster to an IQ cart, but it's likely cheaper to find an IQ cart already. I had no idea they still made toasters in '00. Live and learn.

I had bought a 2003 resistor cart for $50 that was a hurricane flood victim. I just bought it for the roof and cowl basically for my carryall. Yeah they made the resistor carts way longer than I thought too!

As for a project cart, unless you plan to drop big bucks I’d hold off for at least a 48v series cart if not an IQ. You’ll have more invested in it than it’s worth to convert. Just my .02

If you just plan on making it look decent, run, and drive it might be worthwhile just for fun. But I wouldn’t go crazy, the resistor carts just aren’t as desirable or worth a whole lot of money.

If the body is anywhere near intact, I would be all over that for under $500.

From what I can see everything is there and you have core batteries.

I decided to pass on the resistor cart but found a 98 DS that I am going to check out this afternoon, the gentleman said will run 10’ and then stops, I know this could be anything but worth checking out

The resistor cart would have been so much more fun..... especially after you converted to 48V and got all the extra speed out of the stock motor.....

LOL - I saw that one today as well on the FB marketplace. It looks rough, but complete! Keep us posted on how it works out and I hope it's something simple and that most of the work on that is cosmetic.
