27hp AC motor, curtis 650a controller, on 48v.
The hpev ac-9 with 650 curtis. States at 48 v it puts out 27hp and 70ftlb torque...anyone ever use this setup?

Sounds like a interesting setup but comparing it to my DC motor, I would think it would have more torque. Maybe those are conservative numbers.
My custom D&D motor is rated at 62 ft/lbs at 3700 rpms per the engineer who built it. |

Thats very impressive. I've always thought very highly of d&d. Theyre my go to for reasonably priced speed motors.
I've always wondered about their custom builds! |

Yes I have used it and yes it will force a smile on your face. I did a mud buggy a few years ago and my wife torture tested it.... she actually managed to shear the axle half shaft on the ezgo trying to climb a 14 inch vertical incline one week and exploded the spider gears a week later. (Note.... do not do a positrac kit on an ezgo if you do this setup) The motor and controller worked flawlessly though....
