Default columbia par car solenoid??- HELP!!

I have an electric columbia-parcar (mid-90's). Just replaced all batteries. I have been having a problem with when I start to go it goes REALLY slow...then "sometimes" it kicks into a faster speed and runs great. Sometimes never does. Seems that on a long cart path stretch I can always get it to speed up, but in long grass it likely wont make it. It has 4 solenoids. 2 have resistor coils (one with 5 loops and one with 3 loops) and two others. Is it a solenoid the problem? Which one is the porblem? And suggestions on where I can resonably buy one?

WELCOME to BGW
Each one of those solenoids (except the first one) is a different speed. I would say it is a solenoid problem except your problem is intermittent. Check the coils to see it there is a break in one? ( Careful! They are v. hot after use.)

Do solenoids either work or not...thus not intermittent?

I have not seen one intermittently work unless the power supply to it was such. They can malfunction open or closed. You can put the cart on jacks and slowly push the gas peddle down. You should hear each one operate as you push the peddle down. This will help narrow it down....
