Bad Batteries
Bad Controller
Bad Motor
Bad Wiring
Bad Solenoid (Just because it clicks doesn't mean the contacts are good)

The cart ran previously, so the cart is most likely wired correctly, but may have a bad/corroded connection or broken wire/cable, so clean/tighten all connections. At least the high current ones.

With battery fully charged.

What is the battery pack voltage?
a. At rest Volts?
b. Key on/Throttle depressed Volts?
You should have more than 38V at rest and only a volt or two less under load.
If not, you battery pack is bad.

With DVM's Neg probe attached to B- (Last Neg Terminal on battery pack), what is the voltage on the Controller side Main Terminal of the Solenoid when throttle is depressed with key on?
If it is the same as the battery pack voltage, your Controller might be bad.

I don't have a schematic or wiring diagram for a Marathon with electronic speed controller, so these are generic troubleshooting tips.

Is this a controller cart?

When the cart was found dead, and you plugged the charger in, did the charger come on and begin recharging?
