Understandable and that’s what I kinda caught after reading for a while so I figured I would just wait until the diodes came in

I put the two wires together and the fuse blew. I put a new fuse and everything back to o like it was before. How would the diode prevent the fuse from blowing?

The most common function of a diode is to allow an electric current to pass in one direction (called the diode's forward direction), while blocking it in the opposite direction (the reverse direction). So with you bypassing a diode you are allowing current to flow in both directions...if there is a problem with the solenoid sticking or the pedal switch not working properly it can blow fuse. Kind of a conundrum, if there's a dead short it will take out the diode, if the diode's out it will take out the fuse.

Back from the dead, I know. I’m looking for the answer to this same question.

Did the diodes fix the issue? I also have a dead cart I’m working on. Missing both diodes a and b, Yamaha G9e. I got an upgraded solenoid and that has its own diode. Can I connect the bare wires to the solenoid diode or does it need to be the oem small black square ones? No idea if that even would work but just wondering
