Default Yamaha g16e Missing diodes

Ive been trying to diagnose a g16e that is not running. The solenoid clicks and i have jumped the motor and it does run. I have checked that I have power going to the controller and just recently downloaded the schematic for the wiring on these carts. I discovered two bare wires one being black and one being red/white and after tracing everything I figured out they are supposed to be going to location 4 or a diode on the wiring diagram. My question is will a diode missing prevent the cart from running and also where can i find the original diodes or a replacement that will work? Thank you for any and all responses.

I ordered the diodes and will have them in tomorrow. Now how do i install the diode correctly to make sure i don't blow anything up. Sorry i know it sounds like a dumb question but i'm just not super familiar with diodes. Thank you!

The diodes are usually labeled on the diode package, and the cart wiring diagram has matching symbols. Those 2 wires used to be in a plug that prevented reverse installation, but it probably corroded away.

The new Diodes(If they are OEM) replacements have two spades each...One of which will have a + mark on it...so you can tell which wire goes where based on your schematic ;)

Okay thank you! For testing purposes only to see if the cart would run could I touch the red/white wire together with the black wire and see if it would run or could that cause damage?

I think their job is to arrest flyback voltage from the solenoid coil (which can be a spike of over 1000v), so it might work fine, or, might cook something sensitive in the controller.
