Ok i dug out one of my old car tachs, and see the other day on here that you can put this on a cart!! so what i need to know where the wires go exactly! Will this tach work?? and how about the shift light???(the tack) is a autometer lunar series w/shift light

http://www.autometer.com/download_instruction/407j.pdf -----found this, but still not sure!!

has a red black green white wire thatt can be hooked up! also has a brown wire closed loop and a blue wire that looks like its used to be connected but its cut!!! this this is the one we used on a sandrail(4 banger)

I dont think you can use that one.
This one lets you select the number of cylinders. But DONT BUY FROM THEM DIRECT!

Tom at CPP has it for $35.00 less.

Cool that one reads right off the crank! no need to switch anything or divide by anything either.

Ahhh... THAT kind of tach!

I used a "Tune up" car tach with a plug wire sensor clip to set my rpm's

Even though the pdf link wouldn't open for me, I'd say... Nope... You can't use it!

If I remember correctly... from the old "Sun" tach days
red and black are battery hook ups,
one of the other ones go the the accessory ignition circuit, (to turn it on and off with the key)
and the other goes to the positive side of the (point ignition) coil!

Your cart has electronic ignition, and doesn't have that type of coil!

you might consiter getting the one Ess said!

I would think it would need to know how many cylinders........

Like Dave said, Tom has it for 35.00 less.

I wouldn't suggest hooking any of the wires to the plug wire!
it would probably fry your tach, AND your coil! (not sure if your really serious!)

I've always had better luck calling Dixie Sales/Carts Parts Plus, toll free 1-888-861-2640
(And make sure to tell them that your a member of this forum!)

Tom gets alot of e-mails, and may not get back to you right away!
