Default Battery cable upgrade question

I just installed a DCX400 controller and I also upgraded the battery wiring from 6G to 4G. However, I noticed there is a cable going from the solenoid to the B+ terminal of the controller. Should that be upgraded to 4G too?

I just changed out mine. That one, I wondered about too, but since it's part of the power route, I changed it out. I changed out everything I could find that was 6ga. I still have the motor cables to go, but those will get changed today.

Yes it is part of the high current route. IMO 4 AWG is too small. I use 2/0 AWG.

From what I've read on this forum, you can use 2ga for your stock motor, but you may as well put 6ga on your momma's crock pot. Everyone seems to say 2ga is way overkill for just about anything we run here.

I was told by alltrax if you are running a controller bigger than 500AMPs than you should run 2ga for every wire. 500amps will run perfect with 4ga.

Well the fusing current (melts and burns into flames) on 2 AWG is about 700 amps. Maximum safety allowable current in FREE AIR is 140 to 190 amps depending on which insulation is used.

FWIW above is stated on continuous current ratings or duty cycle ratings. For a cart about 70 amps if driven for 10 or 15 minutes. But the answer is resistance, and how much you are willing to give up.
