Default Painting this weekend

This week I plan to repaint my 2006 club car precedent. (Top, trim, and body)

I have read every post on painting that this forum has on painting.

Steps:
1. Wash then use some wax/degreaser
2. Apply adhesion promotor
3. Paint with Keylon fusion
4. Spray with dupli-color clear coat

My question it... do I need to sand first. I see some people say no that Krylon fusion will bond with the body and there is no need. But some say it is very needed.

Why do you want to use Krylon? I had not had any luck with it lasting on plastic that is outdoors all year( and yes, I used adhesion promotor). When spraying with rattle cans I prefer to use the complete Dupli-Color system (color and clear). I also use a NAPA flexible primer then a sandable primer over the adhesion promotor. I sand the entire cart prior to painting to scuff up the existing paint.

If you have no bodywork to do then I would just scuff it with some red scotchbrite then start the painting process. Some say no scuff and some say scuff but my opinion is 2 hrs of scuffing is a small price to pay to make sure the paint adheres and lasts. I also think you should stick with one product line as Krehbay suggested. As always everyone has their own opinions and these are just mine.

Don't know what changes your new paint job will make, but I wish I had taken before and after pics.
