Default Security

Hi all, I read a thread the other day reference securing our carts.

One of the concepts was the 'keep it going in circles' theory and they can't just push it away.

Well after having a quick look under the cart....there is a bracket that comes off the king pin and of course there is the tow bracket. On full r/hand lock there is 15 3/4" from the center to center of these holes. It took me all of 10 minutes to cut off a piece of 1 1/4" x 5/16" steel and drill 2 x 3/8" holes. The paint took the longest to dry.

Two decent padlocks and I'll have a fairly easy to fit and great deterrent from theft.

That was the general idea (circles) but from what I've seen locks such as those can be picked in a matter of seconds. But probably better than nothing.

Try to do it where its not obviouse can't pick a lock you can't find.

Picked... yeah maybe... very few really even bother with picking them,
(even, IF they know how) I'd think they would just cut them with a bolt cutters!

But, I know of a few different lock companies that make it extremely hard do do either/or!
But... at @ $60.00 per padlock... it would be a bit difficult to swallow!

I still think it's a great idea to at least keep kids from taking it!
(cheap and easy!)
