I read in other forums to simply connect the yellow and black wire coming off the relay switch, and see if it charges then. Search the forums for other posts going into more detail.

Of course, modify with it disconnected from all power sources.

Check continuity of the 50 amp fuse and the 2 diodes on the heat sink bar that is screwed to the heat sink board.

i took the wires off the relay on the control board and jumpered them together and she started humming finally. i guess the new control board is faulty also. thank you guys vry much for all the info. noel oh i forgot the meter went up to 20. do you think the control board is bad or is something supposed to be activating the relay that is not happening? i appreciate any input.

If its charging with the relay jumped there is nothing wrong with the charger other than the PC board. Did you buy the new board off of ebay? Those boards on ebay don't have a very good reputation.

The charger wont shut off with the relay jumped so you will have to watch it closely.

The relay senses voltage from the carts batteries....if you have a bad connection anywhere in the charging circuit or the battery pack it wont kick off. Did you check the contacts in the charge plug and receptacle.....at this point if those are bad and you have the relay jumped there will be some heat in that area.

no not any heat on either side of the receptable, cable wires very mildly warm but i think this is probably normal. i did buy board on internet but not from ebay,it came in an ezgo stamped box so i dont think it is aftermarket, guess ill have to try another one. i am watching it close and will unplug before bedtime. thanks very much everyone! noel
