BACK FROM THE DEAD!

Sheesh, it's hard to believe that it's been a year since I updated this thread.

So here's the update: the rear suspension needed more lift, but when it was raised up the rear shocks would hit the driven clutch. So I had to move the upper mounting points backwards. I made some brackets out of 1 1/2" square tubing that mount to the original upper shock mounts and also at the rear frame.

This mount angles the rear shocks backwards, and inadvertently created a little softer ride. Not sure how that happened, maybe more leverage on the shocks? But it did work a little. Still not as soft as I hoped. But it's a start.

Here's a shot from the side. Definitely high enough. Not just have to perfect the front suspension and steering. It's all taken apart again....

I need to build a better mounting design. The way the atv suspension is connected now is kinda hillbilly rigged so to speak....LOL. No disrespect to hillbillies, but you know what I mean.

Got an idea from a fellow NE Ohio memeber aibeex to make a flat plate out of thick sheet steel on the bottom of the front suspension hoop, then do the same on the top of the atv suspension. Simply bolt the two together then. Sounds good, now just have to take it all apart and cut, grind, weld, grind, etc, etc, etc. Should be done in a few hours, right? LOL

Thanks Todd, it's never going to be done, as we say....

I do have some Harley rear air shocks to slap in the rear. I saw someone on here try that and they said it softened it up quite a bit. That might be next after the front end.

Paint? What's wrong with the paint? Just kidding, it does need some black on that chassis huh? Well, I'm thinking of redoing the paint on the body as well. Thinking satin black with Rhino Lining or truck bed coating in the bed. I also was thinking of an Olive Drab Green with an old WW2 theme of some sort. Depends if I want to go flashy or trashy?

The bed sits too high in the back also, need to knock that down a few inches. Wow, didn't realize how high that thing sits. I just put it on the way it came with the cart, didn't do any tweaking.

Now that I know I'm keeping it and that the suspension works, I'll get this thing fine tuned and done right. No more rig jobs. Maybe you guys can give me idears?
