Pack voltage vs. voltage at charing receptacle

My pack voltage is at 48v and my volts at the charging receptacle is 35v. Is this normal and is that enough to activate the charger? My charger clicks on but does not show any amps on charger.

Trace the wires from the charge receptacle to the battery terminals they attach to. Measure measure the voltage at both spots. If it's different you have a wiring problem between the pack and the receptacle.

I have checked at the receptacle and it reads 35v. Across the whole pack it reads 48v. All the wires and fuses seem to be in good shape. Where do I start?

The only way you can get these readings is by connecting the charge wires incorrectly to the pack. Where you read 48v pack voltage and where the charge wire connect should be the same terminals ...... hope this helps

What year and model is your cart? As wiring diagrams are different depending on which unit you have. Just guessing and as Gornoman and Scottyb say you have wiring wrong as your charge receptical on cart should show 48 volts. Charger receptical PLUS wire should be to #1 battery or solenoid connection, and NEGATIVE should go to MINUS on #6 battery.

It's a 96 DS. The receptacle + wire goes to positive on #1 battery and - goes thru the obc (I think) to negative on #6 battery. I have not changed any of the wiring. The cart ran and charged great up until about 3 months ago. Sometimes charger will kick in and charge but most of the not. Why am I not getting but 35v at the charging receptacle if I have 48v at battery pack?

The wires themselves may be corroded somewhere causing a voltage drop. Poor connections can do it also. If the wires are routed as you say they are, the wires or the connections are suspect. The OBC does not alter the voltage, it simply senses the voltage.
