Does any one know what the pre medalist and medalist engines were ? Same Robin 244cc during the 1987 year as the marathon's?

Any 87 would be the 2pg stroke. 1988 was the last year. 1989 went to the 3pg 2 stroke.

I have an extra starter/gen pulley that might work for you, I can measure the shaft hole and outside diameters if interested. Shipping should be cheap enough as I'm in Idaho too

Is Amazon or Ebay the best option for tires ? Gotta replace 4. Dont need new. just to hold air and roll.

If you have a Discount Tire in your area check there, or even Walmart. This is for new tires of course..................

Did you get a Starter/Gen yet? I noticed a lot of them come without the pulley now. If so, Check the shaft size and I'll see if the pulley I have will fit

Not yet. No. There was one on Ebay. That came with a pulley for 100. That I was going to order and give it a try.

I looked at that eby starter/gen, price is right and comes with a pulley but like CA was wondering: There doesn't seem to be a 5th pole....

Just out of curiosity I was wondering if the mounting brackets and the electrical cables from the F/R switch to the S/G are still there? Maybe you could post a pic of the top of the motor? Heck, maybe the entire buggy would be fun to see while you're at it...

Here's a couple pics of mine showing the wires and mounts that might help

I looked at the ebay starter/generator and compared it to mine. I have a 1987 ezgo marathon 244cc 2pg just like yours. And it is a match to what I have. So it should work fine.
