Default Importance of Electric Cart Maintenance

When most folks get an electric cart, they think that their days of maintaining a cart are over. Think again.

It is very important to spray a baking soda/water solution on your entire battery system at least once a month to neutralize any acid. This cart has never had this done. It's a 1999 Yamaha G19.

Terminal protector is very important also. This cart had a post melt, and it has been running off 40 volts ever since.

What is not pictured is the transaxle. It has had no oil in it for about 2 years. Needless to say, it needs work. I have to replace batteries, put bearings in a transaxle, cut out and weld in new battery trays, and put a Line-X type material over it to keep this from happening again.
