Default Full charge but dies after just a few minutes.

Hey folks

I have a 2000 48v DS with all brand new trojan 8v batteries and I just replaced all the cables (4ga). Everything seemed to be working just fine until the other day.

I plugged the cart when i left for work and when i got home my wife had unplugged the charger from the wall, but not the cart. Ever since then, it acts like it has a full charge (the charger automatically turns off after a while), but run time is only about 10-15min.

I attempted a OBC reset and this seemed to allow me to give it a full charge, but still no change.

any thoughts??

I also replaced the main Negative lead, but all connections look tight.

thanks in advance.

good thoughts..I don't have a multimeter... guess its time to pick one up.

I'm more curious than anything if there could be another part that is malfunctioning.

You should have around 50.9 at 100% charge. 48 volt would be just around 50% charge. Check each battery as well.

You forgot to run the main neg cable through the hole in the obc, likely.

I did! Totally. I was told it wouldn't matter, but it's not running though the hole any longer. That would cause it to not charge fully?

Great call friend. Diagnosing issues over the Internet without actually looking at a cart is a difficult proposition at best, and impossible at times. You made it look very easy with little to go on. Impressive.
