you're in a club car forum, my first cart ever was a 36V yamaha and I guess I didn't know how good I had it. I'm guessing the newer yamahas as you speak of might be as over engineered as the newer club car you speak of but I don't know. I'm guessing the older club cars aren't much different than my old yamaha for straight simplicity and quality but I don't know that either. So far I don't like this newer club car mainly because it takes control over the user and does stuff you don't tell it to do.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I passed on 2009 as the seller never stated that the cart needed 4 new tires when we negotiated price over phone. I did find a 2014 Precedent, no seat or lights for $2200 which I feel for a 2014 is a good deal? I can add that stuff over winter.
