Default 3 wire strut on Tempo

I have a 2019 Tempo that I am trying to install the Club Car premium soundbar on.

Problem is we installed the MadJax light kit so we didn't use the factory bucket harness, so we can't install the factory voltage reducer.

Does anyone know what the 3rd wire in the strut is for? I have tried to hook 12v from the madjax harness to the red and black wires in the strut but it pops the fuse in the sound bar.

Strut has red, black and a brown wire.

Thanks

Are you trying to re-add the factory reducer?
It has 2 connectors. A 2 pin side which is output, 12v + GND. And a 3 pin side which is input, b+, GND, enable.

Or are you trying to install the sound bar and use the aftermarket reducer? And it blows the fuse because the aftermarket one is undersized?

Or are you blowing the fuse on the sound bar itself when you just try to power it up with any old 12v + GND?

We are using an ECO battery reducer and trying to wire in the sound bar to + and - on the Madjax harness which shows 13.5 volts. As soon as I touch the + and - of the Madjax harness to the strut wires it pops the fuse in the sound bar.

Sounds like a short inside the sound bar itself. Rule out everything else by trying to power the sound bar from a 12v car battery.

That's where we are leaning as well.

Should be obvious, but make sure to put the correct size fuse
