Default DC Thermal Heater Install

Anyone installed one of these DC Thermal 48 volt heaters? 20,000btu's should be enough I think :-)
https://dcthermal.com/product/sd48-2...ducted-heater/

I've seen where OffTwice put it in his Cart Envy build and not really interested in building a custom enclosure. Would prefer to have vents at front of cart instead of near neck area where he had them:

Anyone else installed a ducted unit in a club car and if so, what location?

Don't have a ducted system, I went for a 1500w Inverter:

And two 500w Ceramic Space heaters (which fit perfectly in the dash storage areas of a DS):

Cost about $190 total and seems to work just fine.

That sounds pretty cheap for a 48 volt 1500W inverter?

Got everything on Amazon click on links for details:

The $159 48 volt 1500w Inverter that I ordered in December is no longer listed, here's a link to the $215 48 volt 2000w version. Time will tell how good the Inverter is, it has good ratings and is pure sign wave.

Heaters $15.99 each

I am sure you are using a 12v battery to power that inverter otherwise you would also need a 150amp 48v-12v converter.

The 48v version is just a little more expensive:

I use a ducted 12v version that is similar, but far less output, and less expensive. It's enough to keep my windshield defrosted in the winter. Maybe the 48v version can do more, but my 12v can barely keep up in Michigan winter. It's just enough to keep the ice/fog off. Its possible to use the duct tube and attach it to a wide floor/upholstery type vacuum attachment so you have a long thin rectangular vent that can be made to fit in a lot of places.

My mistake, should have read the details before I posted the link. I have a 48v 1500w inverter.

Inverter Order.JPG

When I clicked on the link in my Amazon order history (see above) it took me the 12 volt 1500w version. The 48 volt 1500w version is not listed now, just the 48 volt 2000w version you found.

Great idea on the upholstry attachment - had found the 2.5" tubing at home depot for shopvacs but never thought of using the vaccuum attachments at the ends for the finish piece - I was going to 3D print one but am at the buy vs build part of my build to speed it up :-)

How many BTU's or watts is your unit? Is it by DC Thermal?

I think it was advertised as 1000w, but as a 12/24v unit. I'm sure it's less than that. It was ebay generic brand, black case 2 outlets. around $30
I run a 12v accessory battery, which maybe made it easier to run the heater on 12v for me.

Gotchya - something like this: ?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1x-800W-2-O...-/113359443645

You might be getting low output due to the battery not being able to push 80+ Amps to the heater?

I ordered the 48V/1200watt DC Thermal unit - it will be here tomorrow - will report back on temps I'm getting out of the unit and where I mount it.
