You need 2 diodes, one in each of the brown wires near the tail light assembly connector with the cathode pointing towards the tail light.

If You added a single diode in the brown wire behind the dash, while that isolates the rear light assemblies from the headlight, it does not isolate the rear light assemblies from each other as the 2 brown wires are connected to each other before they combine into a single wire at the dash harness.

The issue is with the LED taillight assembly design, that problem is just more noticeable with LED headlights since the halogen lights will not produce light with the small current being back-feed.

Thanks. I started doing just that after I posted my question and went back outside to mess around with it more. Hopefully that solves it!

Diodes installed at tail lights, cathode facing lights. It seems like I'm 99% of the way towards having it fixed.

Everything seems to be working fine, but I'm still getting a blink from the opposite lights when using the turn signal (if i signal left, left side is illuminated and right side has a very faint blink). It's really faint compared to earlier and not really noticeable in daylight. In the garage I can see it.

I'm planning on installing a volt-2002 48v->12v reducer soon. When I do, I'll move the light assembly to a new fuse panel so it's getting a proper 12v input instead of the 16v input the dealer has wired up. Will that further reduce/eliminate the faint blink from the opposite side?

I am not sure how else you could be getting feedback on the circuit...

I am not familiar on how MadJax designed their LED front lights/TurnSignal/DRL circuit boards so maybe the feedback is coming from there now.

Try to temporarily disconnect that bullet connector for the DRL and see if the feedback still happens.

If it does, You will need another diode there with the cathode pointing towards the single RED wire.
