AC cart for hunting
I know I want a long travel lift kit and it needs to go on a cart with factory AC. What are my options? Jakes has LT for the Drive and Yamaha Adventurer, and EZ Go RXV. Are there any other options? I'm looking hardest at the Yamaha, and think that after lifting, the Yamaha suspension would ride the best.

Re: AC cart for hunting
Thank you for the input. Do you happen to know when/ year that Yamaha introduced the AC version of the Drive? And is the "Drive" the G29?

Re: AC cart for hunting
Why is AC that much better that you would want to rule out all others?
Seriously asking here...not a condescending question. |

Re: AC cart for hunting
From my limited real-world experience, added to by lots of reading on here, AC basically has 40% more power and 30-40% more range with same set of batteries and motor. That is a very over simplified answer, but that's my understanding. No drain going up hills- which for a hunting buggy in my part of the world is huge.

Re: AC cart for hunting
I am by no means an expert on AC systems. I can only share that when we bought our used cart last month we first drove two nice DC carts. Then I saw another nice looking used cart kinda tucked back in the corner of the showroom.
I asked the salesman if there was anything different about that one. His response got my attention. He's said, "That's an AC cart. I know you drive very powerful cars, so don't even test drive that one unless you want to buy it." When he pulled it out he said, "Don't say that I didn't warn you." I drove it around the block and said, "I'll take it." It hit a speed limited 37 mph in street mode and 24 mph in golf mode. The acceleration rate was double the DC carts I've driven. The cart also had higher end suspension and steering systems. So now, here I am trying to find out more about the care and feeding of AC carts and maybe gain a better understanding of any shortcomings besides higher replacement costs. At this point I'm very pleased we went with an AC cart. |
