Re: Speed sensor and magnet
Thats about what i expected with 6 year old batteries. I should be getting speed readings in the 15-16 mph range even with 80% charge. Is it safe to say I have a speed sensor problem?

Re: Speed sensor and magnet
Yeah, I've done the test and it looks cut and dry like its the speed sensor, I just have a tendency to second guess myself. How difficult is it to change out the magnet?

Re: Speed sensor and magnet
. . . I have not changed one out, but based on other members, pull passenger wheel and speed sensor is accessible . . . remove speed sensor and look inside at back end of motor/armature shaft . . . magnet should be visible on back end of armature shaft . . . it is held in place with a 1/4-20 x .5" screw . . .

Re: Speed sensor and magnet
It is pretty easy to change out (I did mine twice), just like Stevegrmich mentioned.
You should also consider ordering a speed magnet (4 pole), it is a pretty cheap upgrade on the IQ system you have (under $20 delivered). |
