They are supposed to use around 30 to 35% less power than halogen from what I've read.

I have a thread started on my hid install with pics. There just h3 bulbs and i actually hot glued the ballast to the side of the houseing. It really made a neat deal. So far it aint melted anything. I went with 4300k at 35watts
