Light wiring
I would like to connect the light kit wiring directly to the battery. It's a 2010 Club Car Precedent. In the current configuration, I am only getting about 10.5 volts to the lights and horn. It is a gas cart.

Re: Light wiring
I usually pull power from the switched side of the key switch for lights. Do you have turn signals and brake lights? If so you may want to use a relay switched by the key to provide power either either the key supply side, or direct from the battery if you prefer. Be sure to use a weatherproof fuse holder capable of handling at least 20 amps.
I don’t have a wire diagram for those, so can’t help with specifics of which wire is which in the harness. Hopefully someone else will chime in with a driagram for you. But basically you’ll run your new power wire direct to the main supply wire for the light harness. Something you may want to check is that the lights are grounded properly. You can ground to the frame on the gas carts. I don’t know how the grounding is done in the harness on those. |
