2003 EzGo.. Barley moves
Hello All,
I am trying to help my friend and get his cart going... I am pretty sure its a 2003 electric ezgo cart,.. The problem is that it just creeps along, Ran fine couple days ago.. It feels like the batteries are dead and it just wont move past 1 mph... You turn key to on and hit the gas, cart kind of trembles a little and just barley rolls in forward or reverse , I have the charger plugged into the cart now, I will try and get it going either tonight or in the morning... I am charging batteries to make sure its not the batteries... ( There New) what should I check first? Thanks, Ant... |

Put a meter on the battery pack and note the reading then with the meter on the pack try to go and report the voltage reading when you try to go and at a stand still.

Re: 2003 EzGo.. Barley moves
I went ahead and checked everything...
Here are the numbers.. When I tried to drive it in forward I could feel a slight vibration in the cart, That's it.. wouldn't move at all.. Each battery has 6.10v - 6.15v per batt.. The total pack = 36.7.. pack with pedal to the floor 29.2 - 29.3 Thanks, Ant.. |

Batteries are dead. Pack voltage should be close to 40 when fully charged.

Yes recharge, then let the pack sit (settle) 12 hours, give a reading then with the meter attached to the pack try to go and give that reading.

Ill check them in the morning again.. This readings were right after a full charge. charger shut off on its own as if they were charged....
I thought the batts were new, but I guess I was wrong... Ant... |

Re: 2003 EzGo.. Barley moves
hello Again all,
I went and checked again and with the charger plugged in to the cart 43.5 so the charger is doing it's job... The total pack without charger had 34.6 with key off Key on , pedal to the floor volts drop to 29.0 I guess that kind of confirms batteries are dead and need replacing.... Ant... |

I agree. If not dead, the are very weak and unable to sustain the carts operation.
