48V Conversion
Ok, going to upgrade my 2006 Ezgo st350 to 48 volts. I have the batteries, know what solenoid to use, but have a question on charger. I already have a 400amp alltrax so good there too. Can I use a Delta 48v charger from an RXV? If so I have access to one for free. I know I need to change the plug, anything else?

Re: 48V Conversion
Its free... Because its junk. The only Delta-q chargers with any OK reputation in my opinion are yellow & black. There is a guy on here that i believe is a Delta-q employee, have heard some from him, but he is quiet about those QE chargers. Wonder why? I think that charger was "spec'd" by ezgo at a super cheap price. What did they get? A super cheap charger... That tarnished Delta-q's reputation. Thats just my opinion. BTW, these are all failed chargers.

Re: 48V Conversion

Re: 48V Conversion
It won't hurt trying it. When/If it fails you can buy a DPI

Re: 48V Conversion
I think it should be possible, if the charger is good.

Re: 48V Conversion
Or a battery pack and a charger. Keep a close eye on the charger and post here what the highest voltage you see on the pack during charge is. There is more than one way for a charger to fail and some lull the owner into thinking everything is okay when really the batteries are sulfating or undercharging

Re: 48V Conversion
??? I think you misunderstood what I said.
I said test it and don't let it "lull the owner into thinking everything is okay when really the batteries are sulfating or undercharging" In other words. If it is not charging properly OVER TIME this can cause a pack to go prematurely bad. Questions? |
