1996 club car ds electrical trouble

I have a 1996 club car ds 48 volt. This cart has an alltrax 48500 controller heavy duty solinoide heavy duty forward reverse contactor with 2 gauge welding cable wires. I use this cart as a hunting cart and have the reverse buzzer bypassed. The problem is that when the cart gets wet in a drizzle or just driving through wet grass the reverse buzzer will sound and the cart will not move untill it dries out. It has even made the cart run slower so that I had to reset the controller. Any ideas on waterproofing this or what spacific wires could cause this to happen.
