Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Basically, if you can tell in the pics...I used three garbage bags for the batteries, two for motor area and one for each tire...but I did take off the canopy and struts so actually there wasn't but a few more screws to remove to take the body off...good luck with your project

Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Finished job. Wanted it a little more "shiny" but hey what do you expect for doing it under the carport, in the open air. Thanks everyone for you input before this endeavor. My wife did the majority of the work since I'm hurt so I'm pretty proud of her and the cart. So what do you guys think? It's supposed to be gloss black with hammered silver accent. You can also see the my Hummer in the background of some of the pics that's also a work in progress.

Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Painted the dash and aluminum surround. So now there's no aluminum color. Wanted basically strictly "old school" job. I'm thinking about adding some small red pinstripe along the fender lines and around the front but I left off the Club Car emblem so I'm trying to figure out how to end it there or continue it without it looking like crap.

Looks really good...The flat black look is actually in style and the fact that its not super shiny looks really good with the wheels! I give it an A+

Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Thanks. Don't get me wrong..I do like it, just wasn't expecting it. I'm happy with it considering it was done in the open air under a carport. But its like opening a bag of M&M's with peanuts and the bags full of pretzel M&M's. You might be a little disappointed but your butts still gonna eat'em!

Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Nice job! I too just started painting my DS using silver can spray. All is well other then fact I'm getting Mottle effect in some places with the silver paint. Did you run into that? At first I thought some parts were still wet but even after drying there were shiny parts and less shiny parts in paint. Starting to rethink the silver and go to solid color perhaps. Any tips.

Re: 99 Club Car Repainting.
Hi yes the paint I'm using is Rustolium 2x painters touch Metallic like this one
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleu...2#.UeZySYe9KK0 It just dries blotchy due to the shifting of the metallic particles. I read on line this happens often with metallic paints. |
