Anyone Paint, Vinyl Wrap or Line-X Their Plastic Canopy??
So, I'm preparing to start my G22 build and need to do something with this white canopy. Everyone I talk to says you can't reliably paint them. How about Line-X bed liner? Has anyone done a vinyl wrap on theirs?
I just found this awesome outfit called Up To Par that does seats and makes a bra type thing for the canopy but of course they make them for all buggies EXPEPT the G22. If you've changed the color on yours, let's hear what you did and see some pictures. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Re: Anyone Paint, Vinyl Wrap or Line-X Their Plastic Canopy??
Here is my G22, start and will never be finished! lol.
I removed the roof and struts because i wanted both black. After removal of the roof I pressure washed, cleaned with degreaser soap, scrubbed with a rough brillo pad, then washed again and air dry over night. I used Krylon Fuson for plastic paint and used almost 3 cans. Do very LIGHT even layers, I made about 6 or so light layers to fully cover the white. Its not perfect but no one will see the top of the roof, and they will only notice its not factory black unless I point out imperfections. |

Nice...... I've heard good things about the Krylon Fusion paint. I will more than likely give it a shot. My buggy is going to be Stinger Yellow and a black roof is the only way to go.
Love those tires. Wish I could get some that aggressive but since our Campground is next to a golf course my wife insisted the tires be golf course friendly. I ended up going with Carlisle All Trails. What lift do you have? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The lift is a Madjax lift.
I really wanted the Jakes Long Travel but with little kids the 3" spindle is easier on/off the cart. |

I had my finger on the trigger for the long travel.... But, even with the flares, the tires will stick out and throw up rocks and mud all over mama..... She wouldn't like that.... So, I ended up ordering the Rhox 6" A-arm lift just this morning. Saves a bunch of money to boot.

Line-x would hold up well. I did the entire body on my jeep cart.

Re: Anyone Paint, Vinyl Wrap or Line-X Their Plastic Canopy??
We had a few done by Line-X a couple of years ago, none lasted more than a year before they were chipping and peeling - we *did* have a "House Cart" that we prepped the hell out of (wash, dewax/degrease, scuff, wash and dewax/degrease again, 2 coats of adhesion promoter) then hit with 3 coats of Duplicolor "Bed Armor" a couple of years ago that held up pretty well but it was constantly getting nicks and scratches from the trails in the woods so it was a never-ending battle with touching it up ...

Just redid my old DS top that was done with fusion. Never again! Lord knows I hate Krylon and this was the last straw. Sandblasted it [gently], adhesion promoter, and used SEM's trim black. Not cheap but WORKS. Took 3 cans. Designed for plastic as it remains flexible. Washed it with a high pressure washer and 170f water last week. Nary a chip or flake. WOO HOO.
