Yanmar Yamaha G1
I'm in the process of installing a Yanmar 13hp. 2 cylinder diesel into a G1. I've done a number of diesel conversions into larger garden tractors and thought it was about time for something different. The engine is a model 2TNE-68C-ETR and came out of an auxiliary power unit from a semi truck. From my previous experience these are very nice engine.
This first photo is of the adapter that is necessary for mounting the Drive clutch to the flywheel end of the engine. So far this has been the most difficult part of the conversion because of the layout work involved. Photo #2 is the engine mounted into the frame looking from the right side. " #3 is looking at the back engine mount. The engine is mounted on rubber mounts using the factory mounting holes in the frame. " #4 is the forward engine mount. " #5 looking forward from over the differential. I'll try and keep this updated as things progress. Right now I'm trying to decide where to mount the radiator. Up front like in a car or in the battery area facing out the right side. All part of the fun. |

Spent time today taking the clutches apart and making a list of parts needed to bring them up to specs. Not much to look at. |

Re: Yanmar Yamaha G1
Man, with the low gearing on the G1, this thing could prob pull a house! Top speed will be low, I'm guessing 15-20mph? But that diesel is pretty powerful!! I like the engine brackets you made. Nice fabwork!

Re: Yanmar Yamaha G1
The first thing that I thought of when I seen the pics was that 440 stuffed in your cart. Looks like he has the room for this one though. Should be an interesting build.

Re: Yanmar Yamaha G1
Yeah his fit's better than mine....how's that? Seems like this engine should be larger. When he get's the radiator and hoses all in there it'll be much tighter. But it looks good!
