Default Briggs 18HP wiring Please Help

I am trying to build a new wiring harness for a CC DS that I am installing a Vanguard in. I am using the diagram in the sticky for a Typical 16 amp regulated alternator. The problem I did not want to run a generic lawnmower key so I bought a standard automotive key switch that only has 4 poles (ignition, start, battery, and accessory) is there any way to use this switch and if so how do I wire it. I think that I need:
1. a wire from the battery terminal on the solenoid to the battery pole on the switch
2. a wire from the start terminal to the solenoid tab terminal
3. not sure where to run ignition pole
4. not sure where to run wire from stop terminal on engine so when I turn off the key it will kill the motor

Can someone please help me.

you can use the auto sw. you purchased, but you will need a 12v,30A control relay to kill motor when the key is turned off.

Your item 1 & 2 are correct connections.

3) ign terminal- should go to fuel solenoid on carb and to the relay coil i mentioned, The other side of relay coil is grounded.

the stop terminal will go to 1 nc pole on relay. The common pole on relay should be grounded.

The operation will be when you turn ign, sw to on, it will energize fuel solonoid and relay. The relay will open up the ground to the stop sw. The start postion wll energize starter soemoid and crank motor. When ign sw off relay de-energizes and stop switch and fuel solenoid, stop switch is grounded and kills motor.

If you used a mag. sw no relay would be required and wired per diagram.
