Default Rare ez-go?

I have a 98 ez-go I'm working on, the cart is a dcs....so I thought until replacing the controller...the controller looks to be for a pds judging by the harness and has plug for speed chip....the forward reverse lever is a turn knob by the seat instead of the dash....this an early pds cart?

I think the early PDS carts started in 2000.. If the controller has a 10 pin connection on the end, it is a DCS. If it has multiple connections on the face it is a PDS.

Yea, what I'm getting at is it has a pds controller with the manual forward reverse switch by seat....never seen one like that...I thought all pds carts had a dash switch. And cart is a 98...

Some of the early PDS carts had a round silver disc under the seat by your right leg. Looks like the DCS carts but different setup. I didn't think that started until 2000 so if you have a 98 that is kinda rare.

If you put your serial number in at shop ezgo dot com what does it tell you?

The very first PDS carts incorporated the DCS shifter because that was what they thought would work best. After about a year and a half of building them that way, they decided to scrap it and went to the rocker in the dash.
