Default I think its fixed; thanks to this site!!!!

So, I'm new to this forum, have spent some time at another, but found this site to be a slight cut above. I am a hard core lurker; unusual for me to post unless really frustrated or really happy. This is for the latter.

I posted my problem on the other site: cart was running great then started to just shut down after some driving and then got progressively worse from there to the point it would fire and die, fire and die. If I feathered the pedal I could get it to continue, but would backfire and make sick gurgling noises. Thought it to be a fuel issue, but cart has a new filter and pump; took carb off and cleaned out, all to no avail.

After reading thread after thread after thread I came to the conclusion that valve lash on these is very important and a few of my symptoms could be attributed to improper valve lash so, after looking over the valve lash adjustment sticky, I had at it. Lo and behold, the cart ran like a top, ran better than I have ever heard it!!! Two valves were tight, one was loose and the last one had a loose adjustment nut and was really loose!!

So just wanted to come out of the shadows of this site and say thanks for the resources available here and I'm ready once again to enjoy my cart.

Here are a few pics of my cart; all work was done by me; learning on the go.

Before----

After----

Thanks again
--Mark

Nice looking cart - I actually dig the original 2-tone too, but wow you did a great job!

Thanks, I liked how the two tone looked as well, but it only looked good twenty feet away or through a blurry photo in a dimly lit garage

I adjust ezgo valves once a year for the best overall performance. You would be surprised how many shops don't do it

Thanks for posting with pics and all, we love pics. Don't be a stranger

Where'd the pics go? I'd love to see a "two-tone".

Always late.......

Oooops! At least "after" pic back now. Love the yellow - would love to see the before!

Wow, now the "before" is up and the after disappeared. What a perfectly nice and serviceable golf cart! What is it with you guys?

One of the caveats to getting this cart was that my wife would use it and to that end, it had to be nice looking as well as functional. She drives it to work and takes the kids to school with it. Gets plenty of .

Since I got it running correctly I have been messing with the top speed and have got it set to 20 mph according to my GPS. Not too much, but just enough to make you feel like your flying..

For you picture affectionados:

During the painting process:

Used spray-in bedliner instead of that crappy plastic liner:

You go faster with a Bigfoot pedal......

I was worried of water hitting a fuse block under the body so I installed it in the glove box.

Wow, cart porn.

Only 20 MPH? I got 18 on underinflated stock tires!

Regardless, love the cart, and glad your wife is happy. Mine liked mine so much, I think she wants one now for running around town (painted metallic pink, of course, with yellow and white daisies on it).

Scooter, are you KIDDING? That's the first color scheme Dave Box had picked for his cart before the family intervened and convinced him to do the camo, wow, small world :)
