Nissan has not realeased the sale of "New" leafs to the public. You get them thru warranty right now or through one of their service centers.

Nole answered your question on the Leaf modules.

I have roughly $1800 in my modules, charger, hardware and miscellaneous wiring/ cable needs.

If I subtract the money I recouped selling my batteries and charger, I have less than $1300 in it.

Now I could've gone way cheaper to get the basic. I would venture to say well under $1000.

They're very close to me. It may be worth a road trip to check them out. I don't understand why there is no dealers in the southeast.
Still learning on the lithium battery but 48 volt at 30 amp times 3 is only 90 amps wouldn’t be better to use the 12 volt ones with more amp hours?

My 7 module Leaf batteries, plus the ZEVA BMS and an on-board charger cost me about $1,700. New Trojan 6V T-105's would have cost me about $1,300. So....another $400 and I have a no maintenance.....400-lb less weight, and longer run time.

The Trojan drop 'n go prices are $3,000+. My Leaf set up is roughly half that of a drop 'n go Trojan setup. OTOH.....If I knew "nothing" about how to set up a Leaf system, and I didn't want to learn, it may be worth it to some to go with the Trojan drop 'n go setup.

It all depends upon your level of understanding of the lithium setup. And of course.....how much time you have to go thru the lithium learning curve.

They'd be exactly the same:

4 x 12V @ 120Ah in series is the same as 4 x 48V @ 30Ah in parallel (and all batteries are the same price).

Also they are designed to be paralleled with no additional components required.

If you wanted to you can have 3 x 48V @ 30Ah (to give you a 90Ah system) and save the cost of a battery. You can't do that with the 12V batteries because you'd only get 36V.

Edit: OK, I plugged the number into the eBay search and got the $600 Chevy Volt battery. The problem is that you'd really need two to get 100Ah but they only have one left.

Even paralleling 2 packs (unmolested), you'd still only be able to charge up to 50.4 volts MAX, so the benefit of extra voltage isn't there like using the Leaf modules.
