As NF4ever pointed out in a different thread, if you ever had a Jake brake you'll appreciate regen when it's working correctly. Yes I do use my brakes at the bottom of those gravel roads when I have to slow down even more to make a corner, but coming down those hills I am very much in control the whole time.

Still have the stock Curtis controller on my cart. Just read in a very old thread that there is a harsh regen setting. Might have to give that a try to see how that feels. The problem is the nearest dealer is 70 miles away. If I decide to go with speed code 4, I'll have him tweak the other settings also, now that I understand a little more of this stuff then when I first found this forum.

A lot of (or most of) the small golf cart placed have the hand held controller you need. Check on your iphone maps or search golf cart dealers and you may find some closer and they can do it too. And usually a few bucks cheaper.

I like the Regen system for hunting off the cart. I can drop it in neutral when I spot some pigs and it slows to a stop without noise and as I exit the vehicle.

Does the regen system cause what feels like a little deceleration then surge while running down the road? Pretty much level road and mph only varies by one or two at most. Brand new to me 2011 Club Car and I think it is probably regen but not 100% sure. Tops out at 17-18mph by WAZE on phone- reportedly batteries are one year old but measured 40v after first full charge since getting cart on Thursday. I measured with meter at charging port on cart. Not charged since Thursday night and getting 39v now after running around some for 2 days.

Lead Acid batteries must be charged all the time when not in use and not discharged more than 50% to maximize their service life. At 39V, yours are dead.

After a full charge and a rest period of 10 - 12 hours, please post up the total pack voltage and the voltage of each battery.

That will help us evaluate the battery condition, but as Gregorio stated, 39 volts doesn't look good.

Also read the sticky in this link when you have a few minutes.

That looks like poor little piglet from the 100 acre woods.
