Stretch Plastics Long Travel Help
Hello,
Looking for help on if anybody has found a suitable replacement coil over shock for the Stretch Plastics Long ravel Kit? I have a 2001 CLub Car DS that I installed this kit many many years ago, my teenage son and his buddies used the cart all last summer and I just realized they overloaded the cart and the lower (shorter) springs are completely collapsed. I contacted Progressive and they don't make this shock anymore nor do they have any parts other than shock eyelet bushings, which I also needed and purchased. I've lost about 2" of ride height and need to get it back. I read some older threads, but wasn't able to find if anybody had any luck. Thanks! |

Re: Stretch Plastics Long Travel Help
I would take a shock out, measure its length then find some on ebay around that length with a good weight rating

Re: Stretch Plastics Long Travel Help
The shock is 16" eyelet to eyelet fully extended. The springs upper and lower have P/N's on them, but Progressive doesn't know what the spring rates are even though I gave them the P/N's. I potentially have a source for two original take offs, I'll know for sure today. Other than that, a buddy gave me some Walker Evans shock off of a 900 Polaris to see if they will work, they are 17" eyelet to eyelet, and seem a little stiff, but haven't tried them yet. He also has a lighter spring for me to try if need be.

Re: Stretch Plastics Long Travel Help
I tried some off a polaris rzr 800 and they fit pretty good had to take the lift bar out of the back, but were too soft for my cart. I ended up doubling up the stock shocks in rear and plan on same for front. I do some off roading and helps keep my tire clearance

Re: Stretch Plastics Long Travel Help
I just scored two sets of the original Progressives that would have been original to my long travel kit, a little dirty, but should clean up. I'm super stoked!
