Re: 1998 ezgo electric golfcart txt to slow
Need more information, is it always done this or is this new (7mph)? Has any work been done on cart lately? Is cart 36v or 48v? Charges OK? Post battery pack voltage after complete charge and resting a few hours AND individual battery voltages.

Re: 1998 ezgo electric golfcart txt to slow
My 95 medalist 36v went about 8mph when I first got it. Some research said new it should go about 12mph. I replaced all the power cables to 2 gauge, wire brushed all the terminals and made sure I got rid of whatever 30 year old corrosion I could find. It started driving much better and going about 12 mph. Swapped the solenoid and f/r switch to heavy duty ones and now goes. 14-15mph pretty steady on a good charge. The added 2-3mph from swapping solenoid and switch is more likely because they are new than from them being upgraded. Finally added a new controller. Didn’t get any more top speed but definitely better acceleration and the drive all around just feels more steady and solid. My guess is everything corroded really hurt the performance with all the resistance and making all new again brought it back to life.
