1993 yamaha g8 won't start
I have a 1993 G8 Yamaha that won't start intermittently. Go out one day and it starts and runs fine. Next the engine turns over but no spark. Replaced coil, same issue. Replaced battery because it was bad. Same issue. When it won't start coil shows no spark. It may run 3 minutes or it may run 1 hour then quits. Could this be a pulsar or ignitor issue? If so how do you test each one? Thanks for any help. Checked all wiring for broken or bad connections and made sure it had good ground.

Yes bad igniter. No test for igniter, if no other issues, then igniter is usually bad!!

Thanks, Mike. Can't seem to find anything else. Those babies are expensive. Cheaper than new cart though.

If you do find one make sure it is OEM!! Aftermarket junk is hit or miss wether it works or for how long .
Best bet it the Chrysler ignition conversion. https://www.buggiesgonewild.com/show...ysler+ignition |

Re: 1993 yamaha g8 won't start
If you decide to go the OEM route check out partzilla. they are considerably less than a lot of other places on OEM Yamaha parts. Just make sure you have the part # before you go there.
