Highrollin - I have pulled MANY new Sam's batteries from carts in my shop that were brand new AND bad. I am glad that you are happy with them, but I can assure you that they are not the quality of other brands. They do have their purpose - i.e. - if you need to sell a cart and it needs batteries. Of course, I'll never credit a cart for Sam's batteries on a trade if they come into my shop.

But that's not the real discussion here - it seems that we are debating battery peformance over price - as we seem to do about 5 times a month around here

In the long run - It's Your decision - Your wallet -

Well, Ifinally found a pretty good deal on some die-hard batteries. I've had some in the past and they did good. Pulled the old ones out and then the work began. Scaping and sanding and coating the rails. Boy that will get to you back. Anyway its done.

My Sams 8v are getting close to a year old and are performing great. Hope they keep it up.

Mine are too. It's not like they're off brand. They are Energizer. Just keep distilled water in them and they should last.

We have had a ton of carts here over the years. Every single one had Trojans. If there were an equal battery at a better value the manufacurer would have bought "best for the price".
We have tried Werker, Deca, sams, and others and nothing compares. The others are lighter and will do well for a while. If you plan to sell it, buy cheap. If you are gonna keep it buy Trojans. Ive had some of those (Trojans) run for 6-7 years on a golf course with proper maintenance. The others last 2-3 years tops. I would save my money ( Im poor) and buy the best. You will know by the performance.
