Re: OBC for lithium Carts
Hi everyone, I am converting this 2004 CC DS to lifep04. Cart is an IQ based on serial number AQ0437-xxxx, correct? I am just using the stock CC 3.3 hp motor (EJ4-4001) and Curtis controller (1510-5201) for now.
I want to remove the charge port completely and bypass/remove the OBC. I’ve read through the sticky on the OBC bypass but wanted to confirm I’m on the right path before I start snipping things. To bypass the OBC for an IQ cart, I need to splice the white and blue wires on the cart harness side of the 6 pin connector which I’ve circled in green in the picture? What do I do with the other wires on the harness side since I’m removing the OBC and won’t have any wires on the other side of the 6 pin connector? Then I just need to remove the main neg wire (must be 4 or 6 gauge) that runs through the OBC and reconnect back to the controller where its landed now? |

Re: OBC for lithium Carts
Correct, the Blue and White wires connected together are needed to keep the Controller out of lockout mode.
The Other OBC wires are not needed so you can just leave the 6-pin connector unplugged. The negative wire will go directly from your pack negative to the controller B-. The OBC can be totally removed from the cart. |

Re: OBC for lithium Carts
I removed the charge port, OBC, and did the bypass. Took it out for a quick ride. All seems to be working as it should. I still need to install the DC converter, fuse box, onboard charger, ac plug charge port, and battery monitor...

OBC for lithium Carts
The battery is in. Do I need to hook up this black ground or just leave it?

Re: OBC for lithium Carts
That 10ga black wire with a Yellow bullet connector is the negative for your converter/accessories.
