Smile EzGo Big block upgrade

I need some assistance with picking out what swing arm kit to order.

Our motor blew up late last year and i finally decided its time to get this thing running again to get around the neighbor hood.

It is an EzGo, I'm unsure if its a Workhorse or an ST? it came with a factory lift on 22" tires. id like to say its a 2002 but have no idea because i brought it from a local tow yard which they repo'd the cart so it has NO VIN/serial numbers on the frame or dash.

i do know the motor is a robin 295cc, it was a great engine i think i have lack of oil to the crack and/or oil pump failed and locked up the motor.

But i am looking into vegas carts big block kit for the Predator motor but Wasn’t sure if I need the 2001-2008 or the 1994-2001.

Any help please so i can order today

Looks newer than 2001 based on the shifter just has 1 cable correct? If there are 4 bolts holding the steering column to the floor it is definitely 01+

The emissions sticker says 2000-2001 model year. Doesnt mean that's the original motor to the cart, but they're pretty similar. The biggest difference between earlier and later models is the shift lever. Look at the cables on the back of your shifter. If its 1 single cable get the kit for the newer models. If it has 2 separate cables going to the trans, get the earlier models.

And dont sell yourself short. I see a LOT of good parts on that motor. The head is probably good. Air box. Ignition coil. Ignitor. Lot of OEM parts that are hard to find or discontinued.

i was on the fence about rebuilding the motor but i want something i can drop in and run it. plus the v twin would be more practical for moving the boat trailer around the back yard

but any way like i said i think its about 02 maybe 03? if so id be ording this https://vegascarts.com/collections/e...12399540437036

‘05 TXT - serial# sticker on frame under the seat, if it’s still there. Mine also had the number engraved on the same frame member. Stock? Looks factory.

Mine has the single cable, if that helps! Used Vegas Carts cradle & mount with HF 670. First used a VC460, but it didn’t work as well as the twin for what I need. I probably should go to an electric cart, for the sound level, but I suck at remembering to plug them in.

It's a pre-MCI motor. Emissions label says it's a 2000 or 2001. That all fits the pre-MCI motors are way better than the newer MCI motors IMO.

But the motor is irrelevant. You can put a 96 motor in a 2007with no problems. The biggest (and probably only) factor is the shift cables and rear end. You can identify which you have by the shifter cables. 2 cables is 2001 or OLDER. 1 cable is a 2001 or NEWER. When doing a big block you either need longer cables for the 2 cable setup, they're about 6" too short. Or if a newer cart you need an adapter to modify the mount for the shift cable becauae it comes in from the top and would interfere with the exhaust and clutches/belts.

Aside from the shift cables, the engine cradle and other parts fit all years of carts. Just look at your cables and pick which kit fits based on that.
