Default 2014 Precedent w/ Alltrax Controller

Hi All - I just joined the site after reading through several posts. I have a 2014 Precedent and installed an Alltrax XCT 300 Controller from scottyb today. I have gone from an average of 13 mph to 22 mph, which is great, but I am also having some issues. After about 15 to 20 minutes, the cart drops down to about 5 mph. The battery light doesn't come on, but after I charge it for a bit, the speed goes back up. I am not sure if it is slowing down because it's low on charge or could it possibly be overheating? When I connect it to the ERIC charger, it doesn't beep 3 times any longer either, but appears to be charging normally.

With the exception of the new controller, everything else on it is stock. Any thoughts on why it is slowing down? Also, should it still be beeping 3 times when I connect the charger?

Thanks!

The beep is gone with the old curtis controller. So is the battery light.
Best to get a digital voltmeter display so you can keep an eye on battery voltage and learn when you've reached the cut-off point minimum 50% SOC.

Dunno about the low speed, but get the Alltrax Toolkit software and connect a laptop and see if there are any fault codes.
How old are the batteries? If they're more than a few years old its possible they can't deal with the new current demand and they're about to quit entirely. A check of the pack voltage while driving will show if they're dropping under load.

Could be a speed sensor issue. If your signal drops out, you will go into limp mode...about 7 MPH. Connect a laptop, take her for a spin and see whats going on.

It appears the battery voltage is dropping after about 30 minutes. It goes from about 54 on a full charge down to about 47 at 100% throttle within 2 minutes, then drops down to about 38 after 30 minutes or so and the low battery alert comes on. The batteries are 3 years old, so maybe it's time to replace them?

I saved the monitor log, but it's too big to attach here.

Sounds like it. If I remember correct, the lowest you want to go is like 47.8. There is a chart that has been posted here on the lowest recommended battery voltage to keep them in good shape.
