Fall Turkey
Was out deer hunting this past weekend. I didn't get a shot at a deer, but 2 nice tom turkeys came in and one came home with me. It's a 19lb Rio Grande. The beard was about 8", but the shot took it off. Sorry for the photo quality, these are off my phone.

Mushroom stuffing and a prayer of thanks on Thursday. How great we have it and often fail to see it. ENJOY STONY

Re: Fall Turkey
Nice bird. I have about a dozen that walk through my pasture everyday. The wifey feeds them corn.

Re: Fall Turkey
Corn fed turkeys are the best EZ!
We grind up wild turkeys for recipes calling for ground turkey. For thanksgiving we traditionally raised our own tame birds, but this year (since we're in town now) it's a butterball. She bought it before I shot this one. It's quite a bit smaller than I used to raise, a lot less work too. We do have much to be thankful for, that is for sure. George |
