The item in question is gone now, removed amongst the BS extra wiring. It is/was a controller for a couple under body lights that didn’t work. I chucked it in the f—- it bucket. |

Re: New project: Caroche
Figured it was some kind of "add on" mod. Thought maybe it would be a trolling motor plug or something.
I know I have a set of old DS seat backs in my spares. Can't remember if the back covers were any good. I'll have to try to dig those out. |

Re: New project: Caroche
Let me know if anyone finds out if a DS back seat will work?

Re: New project: Caroche
The DS seat backs work fine. I’ve already installed those. However I’m confident that a rear flip seat from a DS won’t work, most the support on those comes from the rear bumper mounts. This rear bumper mounts completely differently. I’m just gonna make my own, I’ve got a seat back and bottom from a 2000+ DS I’m going to use and build a frame to mount a jump seat style seat in the back.

Re: New project: Caroche
Did you see this Caroche rebuild with a "jump seat"?
Are other great Caroche pics on this website. https://vintagegolfcartparts.com/cgi...=100000&Page=2 |

Re: New project: Caroche
Someone definitely put some time into that blue one. I’ve done a lot of that kind of fiberglass work in the past (I used to be the installation manager at a high end custom car audio shop about 15-20 years ago) and we did a lot of fiberglass and custom work like that. I can definitely appreciate the time and effort into that kind of work
For me, I’ve got a vision for mine. Hopefully I’ll have time to piece that vision together over the winter season. Step one will be getting rid of the hideous paint job on this thing. Honestly speaking, I believe they painted it red and then used actual glitter in the paint… it’s all uneven and not even bass boat flake (that would have been understandable). But it’s like square actual glitter sprinkled about! I’ll have to take a pic that shows it… I’m torn between painting it jet black with a blue ghost pearl, or jet black base coat with dark red “nightshade” pearl like this one I did a few years ago. I’ve got both flavors of pearl on my shelf… think I may have a purple-blue chameleon flip too. |

Re: New project: Caroche
The person who thought those cables were a good idea is likely to have been very proud of their paint job.
"Hey honey, you got any of that glitter left over that you sprinkled on baby Jesus' manger last Christmas?" Your paint job is great! Can't wait to see the end result of this project. I vote for the black and blue. |

Re: New project: Caroche
I was guessing someone painted it after they went to a strip club so they had an excuse for the glitter
I tried to take a picture. Pictures really don’t do it justice m. In the sun especially, it really looks like a stripper sneezed all over it |
