Default Voltage reducers

I have a 48 volt club car it uses 6 (8v) batteries what is the best way to go from one of the combined voltages to get to 12 volts for a madjax light kit?
Is there a simple way of just taking a resistor from 2 of the 8 volt batteries and adding a resistor to get to 12 volt? Or where is a good fair priced voltage reducer to go from 48 volt to 12 volt? Maybe down the road I might want to install a radio. what do you guys use and who has a good product at a fair price and fast shipping? not asking for much lol!
Thanks
Chad

Scottyb's voltage reducers - takes the 12 volts down evenly from the whole pack so you don't drain just two of the batteries. He has EXCELLENT customer service and from what I hear, awesome packaging and shipping. Plus, I've never heard any one person complain about his products.

Go with a reducer all the way. You won't be sorry. I use a reducer, a on/off switch and a fuse block for all my accesories. A reducer will drain a small amount fo juice over time. So I have a switch that I flip before I use any of my accesories. The fuse block I use has room for up to 6 items. Currently I have a stereo and two different sets of lights. I use a 30 amp reducer BTW. A pic of my fuse block is in my album, titled Meat Wagon. You batteries will thank you with better life.....

Where did you locate your switch for the reducer?

I did not run a separate switch, I just connected the yellow wire to the CC key switch. When the key is on, the 12V is on. I will recommend Scotty who gave me great tech support with my questions and made the installation a complete success.

with the fuse block, did you run just the Green wire (power) from the voltage reducer to the block? what about negative?

I have gone the reducer route and wish I hadn't. Just a PITB. Can't find a matching dash switch that handles 36v to turn the reducer off when not in use.

Next time I'll just go with a 12v deep cycle in the bagwell. So much easier to find switches that work with 12v, more cost effective and completely independent. Just my .02

. . not an issue when one uses a reducer that also has trigger wire that turns off reducer with key switch . . .
