seats for a G1
Now that my cart is back together and running well, it's time for me to find some seats. I have spent a lot of time on the internet looking for replacements for the originals, and have found nothing. Can you G1 lovers point me in the right direction for some replacements, or used ones, or the best alternatives.

Re: seats for a G1
Boat seats are a very common replacement.

What about recovering your existing ones? I just used spray paint (vinyl) to make mine look better until I decide to pull the trigger on better covers. I really like the custom option that Kool Cushions offers. Check out their stuff. You may find what you are looking for.

Re: seats for a G1
I bought mid back seats for a tractor from our local Orschelins. They are black, have a drain so they don't hold water if left outside and are universal mount. They are also about the same size, fit well and will look good once mounted. Price was $57 each.

Re: seats for a G1
I used some Cub Cadet Seat covers on my original seats and they fit great!

Re: seats for a G1
I've found boat seats to be expensive and cheaply made IMHO. I was going to use them too but couldn't find any that were built well, just made with thin plywood and cheap metal hinges, lots of wobble and give to them. I'd make a bench seat, if you are into projects. The marine grade vinyl, glue, scrap 5/8" plywood should cost only around $100. You can use recycled couch cushions for padding, and use treated wood for mounts. Or you could use tractor seats, they are heavy duty.

I made my own bench seats using EZGo parts and plywood/vinyl/foam. Total cost was about $300 or so for both (not cheap - but looks good and comfy).
