Default Club Car Ultimate Light Kit

I just installed the Ultimate Light Kit on my 2009 Precedent. Everything was working properly until I connected my charger. When I turn on my turn signals I get a little "stray" voltage to the opposite light causing a faint flash. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

At you using a voltage reducer or the single 12 volt battery as your source of power? Separate ground buss (NOT grounding to the chassis)?

I installed several Ultimate" kits last week and had 2 "brand new in the box" flashers that were bad.

You are not using a reducer. The stray voltage comes from the current flow from the charger through the battery pack that cannot be absorbed fully by the batteries and is feeding through the harness back to the lights.
Get a reducer. Plug the harness input and ground into the reducer.

I don't have a reducer yet, but that was the plan. Any recommendations on a good one? I have searched Amazon and there are several to chose from. Thanks for the input.

It comes down to budget. And of course you get what you pay for. The cheaply made 10amp or 20 amp reducers that look like a grey square with heat sinks on them are the cheapest options. They will work but their is no on and off capability. And I have seen them fail over time.

The more expense route which will run you 30-40 more dollars is the better made option and most come with a on and off keyed switch that connects to your key. Here is an example of one:

I would strongly recommend getting one from the site sponsors and then having access to their support and advice. Check out the ones at Revolution Golf Cars or Carts Unlimited.

I have one of the cheapies I bought on eBay and it has been terrific but I wired it through a separate switch and a 48V relay to make sure it wasn't running all the time and that the normal switch wasn't overloaded. By the time I added that expense to the cost of the reducer I could have just about bought one from Dave or Scotty which has the separate trigger wire and negates the need for the additional switch and relay (and the time it took to put them in).

Thanks for the help. I'll add the reducer and let you know how it goes.

Let us know how it works after the converter, but I am just curious about the problem.

Are you describing a problem that only happens when the blinkers are turned ON while the cart is charging?
