Default Batteries boiling over

I have a 2007 Club Car Precedent with new batteries installed back in June. I use the car every other weekend. The first few times i charged the batteries all was OK. Now, when I charge the batteries overnight they are OK however when I leave them on the charger for the two week period they boil over spilling a few drops of acid on the shop floor. I have not added any water. The level is just over the top of the plates. Any thoughts?

Is it all of the batteries? If it's just one or two, it may be that those require a longer charge and is heating up the battery in doing so.

I have noticed that my batteries will "gurgle" in the last part of the charge cycle when down under 5 amps . . . I believe this is normal as the charge cycle attempts to equalize the batteries . . . waiting for smarter people to opine . . .

I agree Steve and I had asked this question as well. But if his are boiling over with correct water levels then I think there might be a battery or two with a lower state of charge and is being charged longer causing the boiling over, thoughts?

It seems to be only two batteries, one on each side. Sounds like this may not be anything to worry about. I rinse the batteries with baking soda and wash out the battery area when I see the drips on the shop floor.

I have one battery that spots the floor and found by taking the caps off the battery stops the problem. I cover the battery with a cloth to keep out unwanted objects....Also make sure you are filling the battery just over the plates, about a 1/4 inch, and using distilled water...

Yes this is normal. The gurgling is a trapped air pocket floating to the top. The electrolyte is rapidly gassing/mixing at the finishing stage of 5 amps. Equalization occurs only after 15 or 30 days, depending on which version OBC you have (assuming you have a CC OBC).
